A Letter From Our President

I invite you to join the Marathon Jewish Community Center Family.  We are an egalitarian Conservative synagogue. Our congregation comprises members of all ages.  Our special seniors are in their nineties and even 100 years old.

Conveniently located in a quiet residential neighborhood, our synagogue has activities and programs to meet everyone's needs. Educational programming is very important at Marathon.  Our rabbi, Gary Greene, has brought new life and enthusiasm to our congregation. He has created Adult Education and Family Education programs that run both spring and fall series.  Be a part of Sisterhood, Men’s Club or the Minyonaires. Our religious school is outstanding.  Each month we have special Shabbat programs for our religious school children and their families to allow them to become more familiar with Shabbat worship.  Our Family Education program includes special holiday events enjoyed by the entire congregation.  We also have a B’nai B'rith chapter for our teens, which meets at Marathon every week. Morning services are conducted Monday and Thursday and, of course, on Shabbat and holidays.  We have services every evening as well.  Come to our Shabbat dinners scheduled throughout the year and celebrate Friday evening services with us.

Like your house, your synagogue is a place where you should feel at home. From young children to senior citizens all should feel comfortable and welcomed in their "second home."  The Rabbi is someone you can turn to at all times in your life for guidance, comfort and inspiration.

We at Marathon Jewish Center would like to introduce you to our synagogue  - and invite you to make yourself at home.

Abe Dyzenhaus

President
