Marathon Jewish
Community Center is located on the Little Neck/Douglaston border. The
area is made up of primarily single-family homes and garden cooperative
apartments. It is convenient to transportation with express buses and
the Long Island Railroad making it a short trip into the City. We are
situated in former School District 26, which is known as one of the
highest performing in the City. Both the elementary and middle schools
are located within walking distance to the temple. Many stores and
restaurants are also within walking distance including a kosher butcher
and two major supermarkets. We welcome you to take a walk through our
community and enjoy all it has to offer.
MISSION
The
Congregation of Marathon Jewish Community Center strives to maintain a
synagogue that is the spiritual home of all its members. We are
dedicated to meeting the religious, educational and social needs of the
community while furthering the causes and objectives of Conservative
Judaism as interpreted by the synagogue’s Rabbi. We are also committed
to the welfare of our members and to improving the community in which we
live.
GOAL
To
succeed in its mission by creating a reservoir of people and funds
dedicated to the mission and to establish a comprehensive program of
religious services, study, social and cultural gatherings that help
foster our mission
